Monday, March 30, 2026 - Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted a vehicle carrying a large quantity of suspected illegally supplied fuel in Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on X on
Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the operation was carried out at
about 11:38 pm on March 27 by troops of the 241 Battalion deployed at Forward
Operating Base (FOB) Jajimaji.
The troops were said to have acted on credible intelligence
regarding suspected illegal fuel activities involving some filling stations in
the area.
During a night patrol along the Karasuwa–Jajiri road, the
soldiers intercepted a vehicle suspected of transporting the fuel.
“During the night patrol, troops intercepted a vehicle, but
the driver abandoned it and fled on sighting the troops,” the source said.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 34 jerrycans
filled with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), each containing 25 litres, bringing the
total to about 850 litres.
Troops were said to have combed the surrounding area in an
attempt to apprehend the fleeing driver, but the effort was unsuccessful.
The recovered fuel is currently in military custody, while
efforts are ongoing to identify the filling stations allegedly involved and to
arrest those responsible.
