Monday, March, 9 2026 - Unknown assailants have kidnapped and m8rdered a woman identified as Rebecca Gaya Anthony, in Angwan Yara community, Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Facebook user, Jerry Augustine, who confirmed the incident
on Saturday, March 7, 2026 said the woman was reported missing a few days ago
and all effort to locate her whereabouts proved abortive.
Unfortunately, her lifeless body was later discovered in the
bush.
The body was found with machete cuts on her head, face and
neck.
"With
deep sorrow and heavy hearts, the family, friends, and the entire Angwan Yara
community announce the tragic passing of MRS. REBECCA GAYA ANTHONY.,” the post
read."She was reported missing for a few days, and despite the tireless
efforts of the community youths and concerned residents who searched
extensively for her, all attempts to locate her proved unsuccessful.
"Sadly,
her lifeless body was later discovered in the bush.
"The
incident is suspected to be related to a kidnapping case, although
investigations by the appropriate authorities are still ongoing.
"This
heartbreaking loss is a great tragedy to the family and the entire Angwan Yara
community along Moroa Road, Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
"Her
untimely d3ath has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved
her.
We pray that God Almighty grants her eternal rest and gives her family,
friends, and the entire community the strength and comfort to bear this painful
loss. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace."
