Terrorists abduct wife, son of Kwara businessman

Sunday, March, 8 2026 - Suspected armed bandits, in the early hours of Saturday, stormed the Ndeji community in the Lafiagi Emirate of Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State and abducted two persons.

The abductees were identified as wife and son of Alhaji Abass, a prominent businessman, popularly known as Daniyan Saba.

Alhaji Abass, who owns a petrol filling station, was abducted alongside his manager of the petrol filling station in the same community last year.

They were reportedly set free by armed bandits after spending some time in captivity and payment of ransom.

Local sources who reported to NupekoTv-Lafiagi, revealed that the gunmen invaded the community in the early hours of Saturday, causing panic among residents before taking the two victims to an unknown destination.

The incident has further heightened fears among residents, as cases of kidnapping and violent attacks continue to plague several communities within the Lafiagi Emirate and other parts of Kwara North Senatorial District.

At the time of this report, security agencies were yet to release official statements on the incident.

Community members have, however, called on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to secure the area and ensure the safe return of the abducted victims.

Residents also pleaded with the authorities to take urgent action in addressing the growing insecurity threatening lives in the senatorial district.
