Suspect jumps from 4-floor after killing man and his dog in Louisville




Saturday, March, 7 2026 - A man pleaded not guilty after he was charged with k!lling a Louisville man and his dog in Louisville, United States. 

Police investigated a fourth-floor apartment in Old Louisville on February 26, 2026 after the suspect, Charles Gerlach, jumped from the residence.

Inside, they found another man d3ad and stuffed behind a mattress in a closet. The victim's Chihuahua was d3ad in the sink. 

The suspect was detained and taken to the hospital. He's since been released into Louisville Metro Corrections' custody. 

Police say he admitted to st@bbing the victim and moving his body "to get it out of the way," as well as stabbing and drowning the dog.

He's charged with m8rder, abuse of a corpse and torture of a dog and is currently being held on a $1 million full cash bond. 

Gerlach was detained and taken to the hospital. He's since been released into Louisville Metro Corrections' custody. Police say he admitted to stabbing the victim
