Saturday, March, 7 2026 - A 36-year-old woman allegedly set her boyfriend’s house on fire following a domestic dispute.
The incident happened in Ndwedwe - KZN, South Africa on
Friday, March 6, 2026.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called to
the scene at approximately 14:43 after residents reported that a female had set
a house alight.
According to witnesses, the woman was seen carrying a blue
carrier bag into the house.
She later exited the premises with the bag appearing
empty.
Shortly after she walked a few metres away, smoke was
noticed coming from the house.
Members of the public questioned her regarding the fire and
allegedly assaulted her.
When interviewed, the woman stated that she had recurring
issues with her boyfriend. She did not elaborate further.
She claimed she went to his residence to conduct a wellness
check as she believed he wanted to harm himself.
She stated that he was not at the house and she then left
the property.
The homeowner later arrived at the scene and informed
Reaction Officers that the female is his girlfriend.
He had dropped the woman off in Canelands - KZN, where she
resides, and was unaware that she had travelled to his home.
The female was handed over to the Ndwedwe SAPS in KZN for
further investigation.
