Friday, March, 13 2026 - The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a notorious thug and armed robber, Yakubu Mohammed Auwal aka “World Boy” in connection with series of violent robberies in Bauchi metropolis.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Nafiu Habib, who
disclosed this in a statement on March 12, 2026 said "World Boy” was
notorious for Sara-Suka thuggery.
According to the PPRO, operatives of the ‘C’ Divisional
Police Headquarters arrested the 22-year-old suspect on March 8, 2026, after
responding to a distress call.
The suspect was said to have st@bbed a resident, one
Shamsuddeen of Anguwan Sarakuna, in the lap before robbing him of a Tecno POP 5
phone.
Police investigations further linked Auwal to another attack
on a woman, Ijeoma Neonye, on March 7, during which they st@bbed her and made
away with her phones.
The suspect also st@bbed one Usama Abdullahi, on the left
shoulder and took his Tecno POP 5 phone.
"The operatives of ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters,
Bauchi, acted on a distress call on 8th March, 2026 at about 1150hrs and
arrested Yakubu Mohammed Auwal aka “World Boy” (22), male of Magaji Quarters,
Bauchi, while he was robbing Shamsuddeen (surname withheld) of Anguwan Sarakuna
of a Techno POP 5 phone (N20,000) after st@bbing him in the lap,” the statement

"Investigations link the same suspect with Bala
Mohammed aka “Balagus.” On 7th March, 2026 at about 1300hrs, the pair, armed
with knives, attacked Ijeoma Neonye 'f' at Magaji Quarters, st@bbed her and
stole an Infinix Smart 7 Plus (N120,000), N280,000 cash, a Rolex chain
wristwatch (N35,000) and other valuables.
"Earlier, on 22nd February, 2026 at about 1400hrs,
“World Boy” and an accomplice known as Amir (now at large) attacked Usama
Abdullahi, st@bbed him on the left shoulder and took a Tecno POP 5 phone
(N70,000). Bala Balagus has been arrested; Amir remains at large.
"Prior to these offences, “World Boy” was notorious for
Sara-Suka thuggery in Magaji Quarters, Anguwan Sarakuna and Rafin Makaranta,
with multiple violent clashes.
“He was arrested, prosecuted and convicted in 2024 without
option of fine, but later reappeared in the community and resumed atrocities.”
Exhibits recovered include two sharp knives, one scissors
and a Tecno POP 5 phone which belongs to the first victim.
“In a separate report, on 8th March, 2026 at about 1600hrs,
Magdalene Pius ‘f’ (24) of Gwallameji reported to ‘E’ Division Yalwa, Bauchi
that on the 7th March, 2026 at about 0630hrs Usama Salihu ‘m’ (21) of the same
address threatened her with a knife and robbed her of an Infinix Smart 9
(N125,000) and an Itel keypad phone (N15,000),” the statement read.
"Detectives arrested the suspect and recovered the
Infinix Smart 9 as exhibit; the case has been transferred to SCID for discrete
investigation.
“CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc(+) assured residents that
the Command will continue to strengthen security across the state.”
