NETANYAHU dismisses viral rumours of his death

Monday, March, 16 2026 - Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu released a short video on social media mocking rumours circulating online that he had died, as tensions remain high in the region amid Israel’s ongoing military confrontation with Iran and its allies.

In the video shared on his official X account, Netanyahu was seen receiving a steaming cup of coffee at a café outside Jerusalem while joking about the claims.

“I’m dead for coffee,” he said sarcastically, using a common Hebrew expression that means loving something intensely.

He also addressed speculation online that a recent televised address by him had been generated using artificial intelligence after viewers claimed he appeared to have six fingers on one hand. Raising his hands toward the camera, Netanyahu joked: “Do you want to count the number of fingers?”

Beyond the humour, the Israeli leader urged citizens to continue following safety instructions during rocket alerts as security tensions persist.

“You give strength to me, to the government, to the army, to the Mossad,” he said, referring to Israel’s intelligence agency.

Netanyahu added that Israel was carrying out operations that could not yet be publicly disclosed.

“We are doing things that I cannot share at this moment, but we are striking Iran very hard, and also Lebanon,” he said.

His comments came as the confrontation involving Israel, the United States and Iran continues to escalate across the region, with missile exchanges and military operations raising fears of a wider Middle East conflict.

Meanwhile, Iran’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), issued a fresh threat against the Israeli leader.

According to Iran’s state news agency, the Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC vowed to pursue and kill Netanyahu, referring to him as a “child-killer,” if he was still alive.
