Friday, March, 6 2026 - Superstar footballer, Lionel Messi, is expected to visit President Donald Trump at the White House alongside his Inter Miami teammates on Thursday, March 5.
Messi and Inter Miami traveled to Washington D.C., early
Thursday for a ceremony to commemorate their 2025 MLS Cup title.
The White House confirmed Messi's visit, while a club
spokesman said the entire first team is expected to visit the White House from
2 p.m.-6 p.m. ET, with a ceremony at 4 p.m.
Inter Miami will be the first MLS champion to visit Trump in
both of his stints as U.S. President.
The visit will also be a first for Messi – the two-time MLS
MVP, eight-time Ballon d'Or winner and reigning Argentine World Cup champion.
Messi was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from
President Joe Biden in January 2025, but he was unable to attend the event due
to a scheduling issue during Inter Miami’s brief offseason.
Inter Miami’s White House visit comes before the club is
scheduled to face D.C. United in their third match of the 2026 MLS regular
season at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
