Tuesday, March, 10 2026 - A group of women from a local community have publicly confronted a woman accused of maltreating her daughter-in-law, warning her to stop the alleged abuse or face consequences from the community.
According to women seen in a viral video circulating online,
the conflict began after the mother-in-law opposed her son’s marriage because
the woman he married was from outside their community. The women claimed that
despite the objections, the son insisted on not ending his marriage to his
wife.
Community members further alleged that the daughter-in-law
had treated her mother-in-law with care and respect, even assisting her during
periods of illness and accompanying her to hospital appointments.
However, tensions reportedly escalated when the
mother-in-law insisted that people in the village should marry only within the
community. The women alleged that the mother-in-law and some of her other
children later ganged up to physically ass@ult the daughter-in-law in an
attempt to force the marriage to end.
During the confrontation captured in the video, the women
criticized the mother-in-law’s actions and reminded her that the
daughter-in-law had shown kindness toward her in the past.
They also pointed out that the woman’s son had reportedly
been married five times previously, noting that his current wife had vowed to
remain committed to the marriage. The women warned the mother-in-law to desist
from further maltreatment of her daughter-in-law, stressing that the community
would not tolerate abuse.
