BERNARDO SILVA set to leave Manchester City after 9 years

Tuesday, March 31, 2026 - Portuguese superstar, Bernardo Silva has reportedly decided to leave Manchester City as a free agent, with Juventus and Barcelona the main contenders for his signature.

According to esteemed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder has made up his mind and will not sign a new contract when the current deal expires on June 30.

He will then celebrate his 32nd birthday in August, so is still in good shape and able to play on for many more years.

The attacking midfielder has received multiple proposals from clubs across Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Major League Soccer. Still, he is taking his time weighing his options, preferring to keep his full attention on City’s campaign before mapping out his next step after the final whistle of the current season.

Silva arrived at the Etihad in 2017, joining from Monaco in a €50 million deal. Over his time with the club, he has made 449 appearances, notching 76 goals and 77 assists. He won 16 trophies, including six Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League.

As for his next destination, FC Barcelona remains Silva’s preferred option.  His agent, Jorge Mendes, is reportedly exploring opportunities across Europe, with Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and SSC Napoli also monitoring the situation.
