Saturday, March, 7 2026 - Suspected armed robbers trailed a man from a third-generation bank in Minna, Niger State and snatched over N10m from him.
The incident occurred on Friday, March 6, 2026 after the man
was said to have received payment from a client.
It was gathered that the robbers overtook the man on Shiroro
Road, seized the money and also made away with the victim’s Toyota Camry.
It was further learnt that the victim recovered one of the
rifles used by the robbers during the attack.
The spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident said that the police recovered the rifle and the vehicle abandoned by the suspects.
He said efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing
robbers.
“On March 6, 2026, at about 3 pm, suspected armed robbers
attacked a Toyota Camry reportedly trailed from a bank to Shiroro Road,” the
PPRO said
"The victim was robbed of a sum of money and his
vehicle, while the robbers abandoned their Toyota Corolla and escaped with the
victim’s vehicle.
"Further findings indicated that the victim recovered
one of the robbers’ rifles. Police operatives attached to Tudun-Wada Division
moved to the scene, recovered the rifle and the robbers’ vehicle.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal
Investigation Department, Minna, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the
fleeing suspects."
