Monday, March, 16 2026 - Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has responded to questions about her friendship with fellow actress Genevieve Nnaji
It is widely believed the movie stars were not on good
terms, especially since they are no longer seen together, unlike in their early
days in the movie industry.
However, in a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria, the
thespian confirmed that their bond remains strong.
She said that fans need not worry about any tensions between
them.
The interviewer asked: “Are Omotola and Genevieve still
friends?”
“Oh, Jesus Christ. We are good”, she said.
The actress also shared her admiration for Chidi Mokeme,
naming him as her favourite Nollywood actor.
Omotola noted that both on and off screen, Mokeme stands out
as a talented performer who continues to impress her.
In a previous interview, Omotola dismissed a purported feud
with Genevieve.
She clarified that they were never fighting and stressed
that it was similar to the speculation people make about Nigerian singers.
While accusing fans of pitching them against each other,
Omotola said, “Na them start the quarrel before we know say we dey
quarrel.
"So, we have to catch up with the quarrel. There was no
quarrel. People don’t need to be best friends, but we talked. Like behind film,
we dey talk normally.”
