Saturday, February 14 2026 - South African Police have arrested a female suspect in connection with the brutal m8rder of a 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver, Isaac Satlat, in Pretoria West.
Satlat, also a student, was k!lled on Wednesday, February
11, 2026 during a violent hijacking captured on a dashboard camera.
Gauteng Police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo said
preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was allegedly attacked and
k!lled by a man and a woman who had requested an e-hailing service in Pretoria
West.
"The driver's hijacked vehicle and his body were later
discovered in Atteridgeville on the same day," said Masondo.
The woman is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville
Magistrate’s Court on Monday, February 16, 2026. She is facing charges of car
hijacking and m8rder.
Masondo confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that
additional suspects may soon be taken into custody.
A shocking video shows
the victim being assaulted while driving.
The female suspect sat in the front seat, while a man sat
behind and assaulted the driver until he overpowered him.
After the driver's body went limp, he was put in the
backseat, and a third man was seen taking over the wheel.
Earlier, police condemned the circulation of the footage.
"The police strongly condemn the circulation of the
video that depicts what appears to be a gruesome murder of the victim,” said
Masondo.
Police further urged social media users not to share,
forward, or repost the video.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Gauteng, Lieutenant
General Tommy Mthombeni, has assigned a senior detective to determine the full
circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure all suspects are arrested and
prosecuted.
