Security operatives rescue 21 hostages from kidnappers in Katsina




Sunday, February 22 2026 - Security agencies have rescued 21 kidnapped persons and arrested four suspects at Dutsen Dargaza in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mua’zu.

The statement explained that the operation was carried out under the leadership of the Department of State Services (DSS), in collaboration with the military, the police, and local vigilante members. “Four suspected criminals were arrested and are currently undergoing investigation”.

Those rescued include 16 women, two men, and three infants who were abducted from the residence of the District Head of Bayero in Musawa Local Government Area and other locations.

According to the statement, the operation specifically targeted the hideout of a terrorist, Kamilu Chiroma, popularly known as Buzaru, at Dutsen Dargaza.

It added that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
