The development was confirmed in a post shared on X on
Friday, February 6, 2026, by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer,
Abimbola Adebisi, following public attention surrounding the alleged incident.
According to the police spokesperson, the officers linked to
the incident have been identified and are currently undergoing internal
investigation.
Adebisi disclosed that statements are being obtained from
all parties involved, including the affected officers, the actor, and an

Earlier, a video that surfaced on social media showed Ijoba
Lande seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle with visible injuries,
including bleeding on the left side of his face and noticeable bruises.
In the footage, the actor, speaking in Yoruba, repeatedly
asked for water as bystanders attempted to console him and suggested proceeding
to a police station to formally report the incident.
A voice heard in the background of the video alleged that
personnel from the Area “J” Police Division were responsible for the assault,
repeatedly referencing the station and describing the incident as a wrongful
act.
By the end of the clip, the group appeared to have arrived
at a police facility, where the actor seemed visibly calmer.
The caption accompanying the video further alleged that the
entertainer was robbed during the incident, with his iPhone 16 Pro Max and
$1,200 in cash belonging to his brother reportedly taken.
“I returned from the UK six days ago and was attacked and
beaten by police officers in Nigeria. They took my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my
brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life,” the caption stated.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that
the matter is being treated with seriousness and that appropriate action will
be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
