Tuesday, February 24 2026 -The Kano State Government has announced plans to construct toll gates at seven locations as part of efforts to enhance security across the state.
The Commissioner for Housing Development, Ibrahim Adamu,
revealed the plan on Monday in a statement signed by the Director of Public
Enlightenment, Adamu Abdullahi.
Adamu disclosed the initiative while officially handing over
the seven sites for construction on Saturday.
The proposed locations are: Daura Road, Katsina Road, Gwarzo
Road, Zaria Road, Maiduguri Road, Hadejia Road, and Sa’adatu Rimi.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening
the state’s security infrastructure and improving socio-economic conditions
through effective monitoring of vehicular movement.
The commissioner urged contractors to complete the project
within the stipulated timeframe and in accordance with contractual agreements.
The handing over ceremony, held at the seven project sites,
was witnessed by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Marwan Ahmed,
and the Commissioner for Public Procurement, Dr Nura Ma’aji.
The event included the signing of the handover note by the
contractors, representatives of the Ministry of Housing Development, and the
project consultant, the statement said.
