Monday, February 16 2026 - Kaduna lawmaker, Hon. Usman Garba Zingo has regained his freedom after being released by armed bandits on Sunday evening, bringing relief to his family, supporters, and members of his community.
His release was confirmed hours after reports emerged that
he had been abducted while travelling from Zamfara to Kaduna.
However, the Kaduna Assembly denied that any abduction took
place.
But, Bakatsine, a security expert in the North West shared a
video on X with well wishers congratulating the lawmaker.
Details about how he was freed, including whether any
conditions were met, remain unclear as neither security agencies nor family
members have publicly explained the circumstances surrounding his release.
Shortly after the news of his freedom broke, residents
gathered to welcome him back, expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for his
safe return.
No official statement has been issued on his release yet.
