Wednesday, February 11, 2026 - A son has been arrested among three suspects linked to the kidnapping of his own father in Malabu community, Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State, following a coordinated raid by security operatives.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Adamawa
State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the
arrests followed the abduction of Alhaji Ahmadu on January 30, 2026.
The operation, he said, was carried out “in compliance with
the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, to intensify
operations against criminal elements.”
The statement explained that police operatives, working
jointly with members of the Miyetti Allah local security outfit, raided a
suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Jera village, Malabu District, Fufore Local
Government Area.
During the operation, three suspects were apprehended and
identified as Lawali Haruna, 45; Yahaya Ibrahim, 25; and Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu,
28, all residents of Jera in Fufore LGA.
Police described the case as “more worrisome,” disclosing
that one of the suspects is the biological son of the kidnapped victim.
“All the three suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime,” the
statement added.
The command said efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim
unhurt and to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate, while the
suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
Commending the collaboration between the police and local
security stakeholders, the Commissioner of Police reassured residents of the
command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Adamawa State.
He also urged members of the public to continue supporting
the police with “timely and credible information” as investigations progress.
