4 killed, 26 escape with injuries in Adamawa road crash

Tuesday, February 24 2026 -A ghastly motor accident on Monday evening along the Yola–Mubi Road left four women dead and 26 others injured.

The Deputy Chairman of Song Local Government Area, Donan Prambe, said the vehicle was carrying women travelling to the Annual Convention of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria in Demsa Local Government Area.

“The women are from LCCN Simra in Dunen town, Song Local Government. I was driving behind the vehicle when, all of a sudden, I saw it start somersaulting into the bush,” she said.

“Three women died on the spot, while others were lying down without breathing, their bodies covered in blood,” Prambe added.

She confirmed that the bodies of the deceased and the injured were moved to the Specialist Hospital in Yola for treatment.

Contacted on Monday, the medical director of the hospital, Dr Dauda Wadinga, said, “Please, I can’t talk now; we are treating those who were brought alive.”

The spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, told our correspondent that he would provide an update after consulting the DPO in the area. However, as of the time this report was filed, no response had been received.

Last year, a group of LCCN women travelling to the Demsa annual convention was involved in an accident at the same location, which resulted in multiple fatalities.
