Thursday, February 12, 2026 - The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the brutal m8rder of a 27-year-old woman, Faith Olusesan in Funbi Fagun, Ondo Town in Ondo East Local Government Area of the state.
Unknown assailants invaded the residence of a serving police
officer, DSP Helen Adetowubo at Fagun Estate Road 5, and macheted the victim to
d3ath.
It was gathered that Faith had been preparing to travel out
of the country in search of greener pastures in the coming weeks.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh,
confirmed the incident and arrest of the suspects in a statement on Wednesday,
February 11, 2026.
According to the PPRO, the suspects identified as
Olayode,27; Temitope,32 and Bolaji, 22, were arrested after the murder case was
reported at Fagun Division.
“The Ondo State Police Command, under the leadership of CP
Adebowale Lawal, Psc(+), mnips, wishes to inform the general public that it has
commenced a full-scale investigation into a case of murder reported at Fagun
Division, Ondo State, on 5th February, 2026, and has arrested three suspects in
connection with the crime,” the statement read.
"Upon receipt of the report, police operatives swiftly
mobilised to the scene of the incident, where they met the lifeless body of the
victim. The body was professionally evacuated and deposited at the State
Specialist Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that some
assailants, who were initially unidentified, forcibly gained entry into the
compound of one Helen at Fagun Estate Road 5, Ondo State. During the attack,
the assailants reportedly inflicted fatal machete injuries on Faith, a
27-year-old female, leading to her d3ath.
"Following intensive investigation and coordinated
efforts by operatives of the Command, three suspects were arrested in
connection with the incident. The suspects have been identified as Olayode,
male, 27 years, Temitope, male, 32 years and Bolaji, male, 22 years.
"The suspects are currently in police custody and have
provided useful statements that are aiding ongoing investigation. They will be
charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
"Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has urged
members of the public to remain calm and continue their lawful activities
without fear. He assured residents that adequate security measures have been
implemented in the area and across the State to prevent any recurrence of such
incidents.
"The Command expresses its profound appreciation to the
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his
strategic leadership and unwavering support. His far-reaching reforms and
