Man arrested for defiling his neighbor's 6-year-old daughter in Bauchi

Monday, January 12, 2026 - The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man accused of s3xually assaulting his neighbour's six-year-old daughter in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state. 

The spokesperson of the command, SP Nafiu Habib, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, January 10, 2026 said the suspect, identified as Bilal Ya’u (20), was apprehended following a report by the girl’s father. 

The spokesperson said that upon receiving the report, a team of detectives led by Kadiri Danjuma, DPO of Alkaleri, immediately rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to General Hospital, Alkaleri, for medical examination and treatment. 

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to having s3xually assaulted the victim through both the v@gina and anus.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had r3ped the same minor in 2024.

“On the 06/01/2026 at about 1300hrs, a 45yrs-old father reported at the Divisional Police headquarters Alkaleri that on the 05/01/2026 his daughter (name withheld) aged 6yrs was lured by one Bilal Ya'u 'm' aged 20yrs who was a neighbour into an uncompleted building and forcefully had carnal knowledge of the minor,” the statement read.

"On receipt of the report, a team of detectives led by CSP Kadiri Danjuma, DPO Alkaleri, rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to General Hospital Alkaleri for medical examination and treatment. The suspect was successfully arrested.

"During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the allegation against him, and further exposed that he s3xually harassed the victim through both the vagina and anus. 

"Additionally, it was discovered that the suspect had sometimes in 2024 during the rainy season r3pe the same minor and was warned by the mother to stay away from her daughter.

“Investigation is still on and the suspect will be charged to court upon completion
