Wednesday, January 21, 2026 - The Edo State Government has arrested a senior cleric and founder of Rollo Life of Christ Brethren Ministry, Bishop Gideon Osagie Osazee, over allegations of s3xual abuse involving two biological sisters.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, Bishop Osazee was
arrested by officials of the Edo State Government after several days of laying
an ambush for him.
The State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social
Development, Eugene Abdullah, who confirmed the arrest said other children from
the church had also spoken out about s3xual harassment by the suspect.
She added that the case would be handed over to the Criminal
Investigation Department (CID) of the Edo State Police Command for prosecution.
The two sisters said they were aged 13 and 17 at the time
the sexual assaults allegedly occurred.
However, Bishop Osazee has denied the allegations, stating
that he proposed marriage to the elder of the sisters with a ring.
He claimed that at the time of the relationship, the elder
sister claimed to be 21 years old, which was why he bought the ring to propose.
Narrating her experience, the eldest sister, who said she is
now 21, alleged that she was asleep when the suspect had s3xual intercourse
with her.
“I woke up and I saw that it was my Pastor. That was how he
took advantage of me. He overpowered me. One day, he told the church that he
would have a midnight deliverance service for me,” she said.
“That night, he made me to swear an oath not to reveal the
s3xual encounter and said any man that had sex with me would be stuck inside
because he has a monitoring mirror."
The younger sister, corroborating her elder sister’s
account, said she was 13 years old when the accused bishop allegedly had sex
with her.
Faith Edebor of the Vivian S3xual Assault Referral Centre
said preliminary investigations supported the claims of the victims.
