2 suspects arrested as police recover stolen vehicle in Bauchi




Sunday, January 25, 2026 - The Bauchi State Police Command has recovered a stolen Honda Civic, arresting two suspects found with the vehicle along the Bauchi–Jos Road.

According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of the command, SP Nafiu Habib, the vehicle, an army-green Honda Civic, was intercepted by a patrol team attached to B’ Division in the early hours of January 23, 2026, at about 1:45 am.

The suspects, identified as Muazu Abdulkarim, 32, of Emir’s Drive, Bauchi, and his girlfriend, Rukayya Muhammad, 22, of Bakaro, Bauchi, were arrested at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle had been stolen on December 13, 2025, at Old Jos Road, Unguwar Kaya, Zaria, Kaduna State. The owner, a medical doctor at FMC Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State, has since been traced.
Habib added that, on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, the vehicle was released to the rightful owner after verification.
