Thursday, December 11, 2025 - The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended three individuals in connection with cattle rustling and grievous bodily harm in the Okeigbo area.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer,
Olayinka Ayanlade, the arrests followed a report by one Abdullahi, who alleged
that armed men had stormed his ranch in a commando-style raid and rustled his
cattle.
When he attempted to intervene, the suspects reportedly
attacked him and his son with machetes.
“Upon receiving the complaint, our operatives immediately
launched an intelligence-driven operation, utilizing advanced technology to
track and apprehend the suspects,” Ayanlade said.
He added that the police successfully recovered the stolen
cattle, the vehicle used by the perpetrators, the complainant’s stolen
motorcycle, and the weapons employed in the attack.
The State Police Commissioner, Adebowale Lawal, praised the
swift response of the officers involved and reaffirmed the command’s commitment
to protecting lives and property during and after the yuletide season.
“CP Lawal has instructed all Divisional Police Officers and
tactical commanders to remain vigilant, ensuring effective security coverage
across all areas,” Ayanlade stated.
Residents were urged to stay alert, cooperate with security
agencies, and report any suspicious activities to enhance communal safety.
