Several killed, others abducted as bandits attack Sokoto communities

Monday, December 8, 2025 - Bandits launched d3adly attacks on communities in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, k!lling several people and abducting others.  

It was gathered that bandits attacked worshippers observing the Subh prayer in Kiba Ruwa community in the early hours of Saturday, December 6, 2025.

According to journalist Bakatsine, the bandits stormed the mosque, opening fire on the worshippers.

Two people including the Imam who was leading the prayer were confirmed d3ad. 

Several worshippers were also abducted during the assault, with the exact number yet to be verified.

In a similar development, several people have been k!lled and others injured after armed bandits attacked Gatawa community in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State on Saturday night. 

The attackers also abducted an unspecified number of residents during the raid. 

The exact number of casualties was yet to be confirmed as of the time of this report The incident was revealed in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst Bakatsine. 

“Yesterday night, armed bandits invaded Gatawa community in Sabon-Birni LGA, Sokoto State. They k!lled and injured several people, and they also abducted an unspecified number of people during the invasion,” Bakatsine wrote.
