Wednesday, December 10, 2025 - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of retired Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu as the new chairman of the Military Pensions Board, effective December 1, 2025.
This was issued in a statement on Tuesday by the Director of
Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the
Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen.
The appointment is aimed at enhancing transparency,
accountability, and operational efficiency in the management of military
pensions.
Adamu, a distinguished senior officer of the Nigerian Air
Force and an accomplished financial professional, has held several key
positions.
These include directing staff at the Armed Forces Command
and Staff College, deputy director of budget at the Defence Intelligence
Agency, and principal staff officer (finance) at the Air Warfare Centre.
He also previously headed the 081 Pay and Accounting Group
and went on to serve as director of finance at the Nigerian Air Force
headquarters, as well as managing director of the Nigerian Air Force Investment
Limited.
Adamu later joined the National Institute for Policy and
Strategic Studies, Kuru, as a directing staff.
President Tinubu has urged him to uphold integrity, show
unwavering patriotism, and apply his financial expertise to enhance the welfare
of military veterans.
