Thursday, December 25, 2025 - A serving Police Inspector attached to the Niger State Government House, Minna, has reportedly committed su!cide after he was arrested over his alleged involvement in the supply of arms and ammunition to bandits and hoodlums in the state.
According to the Sun Newspaper, the police inspector
identified as John Moses, an indigene of Shiroro local government area of the
state k!lled himself in the detention cell on Sunday where he was being kept
with other suspected criminals.
This is coming barely a week after the Officer in Charge
(OC) of Mopol 12 armoury located at the premises of the B division of the
police command, Paikoro road Minna Niger state capital, DSP Isah
Abdullahi shot and k!lled himself over the same allegation of illegal
arm deals with bandits and other Hoodlums in the state.
The late DSP was arrested alongside four other police
personnel, including the late inspector John Moses.
However the late Inspector was detained along with other
suspects involved in the alleged arms deals but in different detection
facilities.
Tragedy struck on Sunday when the late police inspector was
said to have hit his head on the wall of the detention room severally before he
slumped and d!ed.
It was gathered that he was in the detention cell with other
criminals who watched as the late inspector took his own life.
A source close to the deceased inspector told the
publication that preliminary findings indicate that the over hundred million
was discovered in his account even as the investigation is still ongoing.
Aside from the physical cash in his account, the late
inspector was alleged to be owing properties within state and also deals in
timber business.
He equally alleged to be owing two sow mills and a number
tree cutting machines involved in illegal felling of trees with over 50 staff
under his payroll.
When contacted, the command public relation officer SP Wasiu
Abiodun said “these are mere speculations, the case is under the National
Security Adviser (NSA)."
