Tuesday, December 9, 2025 - The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man alleged to be attempting to procure ammunition for bandits operating in Zamfara State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, Ahmed Abubakar, a native of Gusau and resident of Anguwan Dodo in Gwagwalada, was arrested on December 7 around 3:30 p.m. by operatives of the Mabushi Division following credible intelligence.

According to the sources, Abubakar allegedly contacted a Nigerian Army personnel, Cpl. During interrogation, Abubakar reportedly confessed that he was acting under the instruction of his uncle, Ahmed Yakubu, who is currently on the run.“He told investigators that his uncle sent him to buy the ammunition and return it to Zamfara for use by bandit groups,”another source revealed.

Police recovered ₦170,100 from the suspect, believed to be part of the funds allocated for the illegal purchase.
