Saturday, December 27, 2025 - Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has downplayed the possibility of defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Fayose disclosed that he would stay in any party the
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike finds himself.
In an interview with TVC, the PDP chieftain pledged his
loyalty to the FCT Minister.
He said: “I’m a Wike person. Anywhere Wike is, that is where
I am.”
Despite his strong criticisms of PDP leadership in the
South-West, Fayose stressed that he remains committed to the party noting that
“I will never join the APC.”
Fayose was part of Wike’s G-5 Integrity group of the PDP
that opted to work with other presidential candidates during the 2023 election.
The G-5 group had chosen to work against the then PDP
presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar because he rejected the party’s rotation
policy.
The former Ekiti State governor alongside Wike, Governor
Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, former governor Ugwuanyi, worked for President Bola
Tinubu’s emerged who was a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, while
former governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State backed ex-Labour Party’s
presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
