Tuesday, December 30, 2025 - Three persons have been k!lled while three others were
abducted following a late-night attack by suspected bandits on Bundu Kahugu
community in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack occurred at about 11pm on Monday, December 29,
2025.
The National Secretary of Bundu Kahugu community, Ishaya
Dauda, who confirmed the incident to punch on
Tuesday, said the assailants stormed the village under the cover of darkness,
shooting sporadically and terrorising residents.
According to him, the community had suffered a similar
attack barely two weeks ago, during which four people were k!lled, raising
concerns over the repeated assaults on the area.
"The attackers came late at night and began shooting.
Three people were k!lled instantly, while three others were taken away. This is
the second attack on our community in less than two weeks,” he said.
The victims k!lled during the latest attack were identified
as Felix Augustine, Luka Yakubu and Ezra Namata.
Residents of the community have appealed to the Kaduna State
Government and security agencies to urgently deploy military personnel to the
area to forestall further attacks.
They also called on telecommunication companies to improve
network coverage in the community, noting that the attackers often exploit poor
communication networks to operate freely and escape without resistance.
"We are pleading with the government to help us. The
poor network here is aiding the attackers. We need security presence and
improved communication facilities to save our people,” the community leader
added.
