Wednesday, December 31, 2025 - Burna Boy has reached a historic milestone after his ‘I Told Them…’ tour was confirmed as the highest-grossing tour ever by an African artiste.
The achievement was announced by tour-tracking platform
Touring Data, which revealed that the tour generated $30.5 million from 302,801
tickets sold across 22 shows in Europe and North America.
“Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them…’ is officially the
highest-grossing tour by any Afrobeats artist in history, with $30.5 million
from 302,801 tickets sold in 22 shows,” the platform stated.
In addition to the tour record, Burna Boy also set a new
benchmark for live performances by an African artiste. His London Stadium
concert on June 29, 2024, grossed $6.147 million from 58,973 tickets, making it
the highest-grossing single concert by an African act in history.
A breakdown of the tour’s earnings shows that North America
accounted for $15.19 million from 152,378 tickets sold across 16 shows, while
Europe generated $15.27 million from 150,423 tickets sold in six shows.
The milestone further cements Burna Boy’s global influence
and highlights the growing commercial power of Afrobeats as a cultural export
from Africa.
Despite the achievement, the all-time record for the
highest-grossing music tour remains with Taylor Swift, whose ‘Eras Tour’
amassed approximately $2 billion in revenue across 149 shows over 21 months,
surpassing the previous record held by Elton John and his Farewell Yellow Brick
Road tour.
