Wednesday, November 12, 2025 - The Yobe State Road Traffic Management Agency, (YOROTA), has launched a targeted operation to enforce strict compliance against vehicle overloading across the state.
The Agency’s Public Relations Officer, DSY Musa Ali Maigari,
stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Damaturu.
According to the statement, YOROTA’s enforcement team led by
the Heads of Operations and Traffic, along with the Damaturu Zonal Commander,
carried out a ‘Stop and Check’ exercise in Damaturu, metropolis.
“Overloaded vehicles pose serious safety risks—not only to
drivers and passengers but to all road users
“The objective of the operation is to reduce road crashes,
protect lives, and maintain efficient traffic flow.
“This operation reflects YOROTA’s commitment to enforcing
traffic regulations and ensuring public safety across Yobe State’s roads”, the
agency said.
Its General Manager, Babagana Alhaji Modu, reaffirmed the
agency’s zero-tolerance policy for violations and called on motorists to comply
with safety standards.
