Sunday, November 2, 2025 - Wolves have dismissed manager Vítor Pereira after the club's disastrous start to the Premier League season, which saw them lose eight of their opening ten matches.
The manager departs Molineux with the side currently
rooted to the bottom of the table and still searching for their first league
victory. The club has unfortunately made history, becoming the first team in
Premier League history to go winless in their opening ten games in back-to-back
seasons.
The end for Pereira came following a decisive 3-0 defeat by
Fulham at Craven Cottage. Reports indicate that travelling Wolves fans at the
match chanted "sacked in the morning" toward the manager.
This dismissal is especially notable as it comes just over a
month after the Portuguese coach signed a new three-year contract extension,
having initially been appointed in December of last year. However, sources
suggest there was a clause in the new deal that allows Wolves to part ways
without having to pay out the full value of the extended contract.
Pereira's tenure was also marked by increasing tension with
supporters. The sacking follows a recent heated confrontation where the manager
shouted back in anger at frustrated fans following a loss to Burnley, having to
be pulled away from the stands.
The now-former manager leaves Wolves having taken charge of
38 games in total. During his time, his record stands at 14 wins, 19 defeats,
and five draws.
This season, the team's only two victories came in the
Carabao Cup before they were knocked out following a 4-3 defeat to Chelsea. The
barren run of ten games without a victory in the Premier League ultimately
signalled the end of his time in the dugout. Wolves are now actively seeking a
replacement manager.
