Thursday, November 6, 2025 - The founder of the Celestial Church of Christ Global Parish, Israel Oladele, also known as Prophet Genesis, has cautioned Nigerians against framing the nation’s security challenges as a religious war.
This is as he urged citizens to instead unite and demand
accountability from their leaders.
Reacting to recent comments by former US President Donald
Trump, who accused the Nigerian government of allowing the persecution of
Christians, Oladele advised Nigerians at home and abroad to exercise restraint
and discernment in their reactions.
His position was contained in a statement shared with PUNCH
Online on Wednesday.
He noted that while many Christians have been victims of
attacks by bandits and insurgents, Muslims have also suffered significant
losses, particularly in the northern part of the country.
“I am a leader and a founder, and I believe it is my duty to
protect my followers who share the same faith. However, it would be incorrect
to claim that the crisis is solely a Christian issue.
“While many Christians have been killed, we must also
acknowledge that many Muslims have lost their lives, particularly in the
northern part of the country,” Oladele said.
The cleric warned that some foreign powers might exploit
Nigeria’s internal challenges for political or economic gain.
“We should not overlook the possibility that the United
States may have hidden agendas aimed at seizing our resources and assets, which
would be akin to a form of second-term slavery or colonialism.
“It is crucial for us to be cautious,” he added.
He urged Nigerians to shift focus from religious blame to
demanding effective governance and accountability from those in power.
“What everyone in Nigeria needs is to demand good governance
from our president.
“Once accountability is established, we can start to see
real improvements. We do not need foreign assistance that could further weaken
our country,” he concluded.
According to the release, Oladele, who is also the founder
of the Israel Oladele Foundation, is known for his humanitarian efforts and
commitment to social empowerment through community development and
welfare initiatives.
