Friday, November 14, 2025 - Kenyan authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals in Mwaliko Estate, Mwea Town, over alleged involvement in a cyber fraud syndicate.
According to a report published by Kenyan digital outlet
Tuko News, the suspects were taken into custody on Wednesday during a
multi-agency operation led by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, DCI.
The individuals identified as Peter Chukwujekwu, Alazor
Chukulute Sunday, and Nnalue Chiagozie Samwe were reportedly apprehended
following a coordinated raid on their apartment after residents raised concerns
about unusual late-night activities within the premises.
The DCI, in a statement confirming the arrests, said the
operation was part of an ongoing crackdown on cybercrime networks operating
within Kirinyaga County.
“A well-coordinated multi-agency raid in Mwaliko Estate
within Mwea Town has blown the lid off a suspected cyber fraud ring operated by
three Nigerian nationals,” the investigative agency stated.
Preliminary findings revealed that the suspects, who claimed
they were engaged in an online business, were residing in Kenya without valid
documentation and did not possess work permits required by law.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their alleged cybercrime operations and their possible links to other suspects within and outside the country.
