Tuesday, November 18, 2025 - Three children were rushed to hospital after being poisoned by a chemical taken from a school laboratory in United Kingdom.
The incident occurred last week at Lord William’s School in
Thame, Oxfordshire. According to the school, the pupils ingested diluted copper
sulphate, a chemical commonly used in science lessons. Thames Valley Police
(TVP) is currently investigating.
All three students have since been discharged and are now
safely at home.
It is understood that the incident happened after one child,
along with a group of classmates, deliberately added copper sulphate to their
water bottles, reportedly because they were attracted to the compound’s bright
colour following a science lesson.
In a statement on Monday, headteacher Neil Dimbleby said
“Three students stayed in hospital overnight having ingested diluted copper
sulphate that had been taken from a laboratory. The police were informed and
have been supporting us through this incident. We are pleased to report that
the students are all now safely at home.”
An anonymous source told the Oxford Mail that some parents
were unhappy about the incident, with one parent reportedly contacting the
police.
