Thursday, November 27, 2025 - The Ondo State Police Command has opened an investigation into the death of an unidentified woman whose body was discovered in a hotel room in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area.
The victim was found dead on Wednesday in a hotel along the
Ore-Okitipupa Road.
The man who reportedly lodged in the same room with her was
nowhere to be found when staff made the discovery.
A hotel employee, who asked not to be named because of the
sensitivity of the case, told our correspondent that the pair had checked in
together earlier in the day.
The woman was later found unresponsive on the bed.
“They came in together, but when one of our staff went to
the room, the woman was already lying lifeless on the bed, and the man was
gone.
The staff immediately alerted others, and the case was
reported to the police,” the source explained.
The worker added that no visible injuries or signs of
violence were noticed in the room.
Confirming the development on Thursday, the state Police
Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said detectives had commenced
efforts to track down the fleeing suspect.
“Yes, the incident was reported, and an investigation has
begun. We are working to identify and apprehend the man who fled,” Ayanlade
said.
The woman’s remains have been deposited in a morgue within
the community while police continue their inquiries.
