Tuesday, November 11, 2025 - The Nigerian Football Federation has stepped in to calm the noise over the Super Eagles’ accommodation in Morocco, after fans kicked up dust over the state of the team’s hotel.
Football journalist Adepoju Tobi Samuel, quoting the Super
Eagles’ media officer, explained what’s actually going on.
“The Super Eagles are camped at Rive Hotel. What trended
earlier was the view of an old building that can be seen from a window. Rive
was chosen because of its proximity to the team’s training facility and the
stadium here in Rabat.”
That clarification came after Alex Iwobi posted clips
showing the rough-looking surroundings near the players’ lodging, which
immediately sparked reactions about whether the national team was being
properly taken care of ahead of Thursday’s playoff showdown with Gabon.
Nigeria made it to the playoff round after finishing second
behind South Africa in Group C. Now they face Gabon in the semifinal, with the
winner going on to meet either DR Congo or Cameroon in the final.
The ultimate winner will secure a spot in the
intercontinental playoffs scheduled for March 2026, where a ticket to the FIFA
World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico will be at stake.
