This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in
Sokoto by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufai.
According to Rufai, the incident, which occurred on October
27 at the suspect’s residence in Gwanyal Village, was reported to the police by
a good Samaritan.
“Upon receiving the report, operatives were immediately
dispatched to the scene.
“The area was visited, processed, and cordoned off for forensic analysis,” he
said.
Rufai added that the suspect was apprehended at the scene,
while a knife believed to have been used in committing the crime was recovered

which tragically escalated into violence.
“Allegedly, Aliyu used a knife to inflict fatal injuries on
the victim, leading to her death,” Rufai stated, adding that the suspect had
confessed to the crime during interrogation.
The police spokesperson further said that the victim’s body
was taken to a hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed her death.
