Wednesday, November 12, 2025 - Katsina State Police Command has arrested 120 suspects for various crimes, including armed robbery, homicide, rape, and drug-related offences.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq,
disclosed this while briefing journalists at the command headquarters in
Katsina on Tuesday.
He said the arrests were made as part of ongoing operations
to curb criminal activities and improve security across the state.
According to him, the suspects include 18 for armed robbery,
28 for culpable homicide, 5 for attempted homicide, 20 for rape and unnatural
offences, and 28 for possession of illicit drugs.
Sadiq added that 97 cases have been charged to court, while
22 remain under investigation, with several victims of kidnapping and human
trafficking rescued.
“Within the period under review, 47 kidnapped victims and 39
human trafficking victims were successfully rescued and reunited with their
families,” he said.
Items recovered during the operations include one AK-47
rifle, one locally made gun, 183 rounds of live ammunition, three vehicles, one
tricycle, four motorcycles, and 201 rustled animals.
The police also recovered 131 illicit drugs, 100 metres of
vandalised high-tension cables, and other exhibits.
Sadiq reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling crime,
urging residents to support security agencies and avoid spreading fake news.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to protect and serve
the community. However, we caution against misinformation, as fake news can
cause harm to individuals and society,” he warned.
