Wednesday, November 19, 2025 -A young Florida woman known online as Girlalala was shot dead over the weekend after what police describe as a fight with her boyfriend that turned deadly, and a well-known rapper has now stepped in to help cover her funeral costs.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a
call in Lauderdale Lakes on Friday night and found Girlalala in the passenger
seat of a car with gunshot wounds. She was rushed to the hospital but couldn’t
be saved.
Investigators say her longtime boyfriend, Shanoyd Whyte Jr.,
was arrested right at the scene. According to police, the pair had been arguing
inside his vehicle and the dispute escalated into violence. A firearm was
recovered, and Whyte is now facing a first-degree murder charge.
Girlalala was a popular figure in South Florida’s
transgender community and had built a following on TikTok, where she often
posted videos rapping along to songs by JT, one-half of City Girls and one of
her favorite artists.
After news of her death spread, JT contributed $5,000 to a
GoFundMe campaign set up to help her family handle funeral expenses.
