Thursday, November 27, 2025 - Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has said that the terrorists terrorizing northern Nigeria are not foreigners but citizens of the country.
Sani made this statement on Thursday via his X handle.
His comment comes against the backdrop of renewed bandit
attacks on Nigerian citizens.
At least 24 schoolgirls were kidnapped in Kebbi State;
however, they have since regained their freedom.
Similarly, over 200 schoolchildren were abducted by bandits
from a Catholic private school in Niger State, out of which 50 reportedly
escaped and were reunited with their families.
Reacting, the former lawmaker said, “The terrorists killing
people in the north-eastern part of Nigeria are not from Congo; they’re not
from Malawi. They’re northerners, and they’re Muslims.
“The bandits in the north-western parts of Nigeria are not
from Senegal; they are Fulanis from the north-west of Nigeria. It is for us to
solve the problem. When will the north address this problem?”
