Monday, November 24, 2025 - Three people have been arrested in Adamawa State for alleged kidnapping activities.
The Adamawa State Police Command says it got at the suspects
in operations that were part of continuing efforts to rid the state of crime.
The Command explained Sunday that the arrest followed a
complaint received on the 19th November 2025 from a resident of a certain
village in Song LGA, that on 18th November, 2025, he received a threatening
phone call from an unknown subscriber.
“The caller demanded him to pay the sum of ₦2,000,000 or
risk being kidnapped and possible killing,” the command said in a statement signed by Police Public
Relations Officer Sueleiman Nguroje.
The statememt added that upon receipt of the complaint, the
Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, directed the Assistant Commissioner
of Police, State Intelligence Department (SID) Yola, to investigate and ensure
the arrest of the perpetrators.
Nguroje stated that acting on the directive, the unknown
subscriber was technically traced, leading to the arrest of the three suspects,
namely Ahmadu Alhaji Halilu, 24 years old; Adamu Buba Balejo, 21 years old; and
Hassan Alhaji Liman of no stated age, all males of Malabu District in Fufore
LGA
“During investigation, the three suspects voluntarily
confessed to the crime,” Nguroje stated, adding that a SIM card used in the
commission of the offence was also recovered and would be treated as an
exhibit.
He said further investigation is ongoing, after which the
suspects will be diligently prosecuted.
