Wellness influencer dies after giving birth at home following rare complication

Tuesday, October 21, 2025 - Australian wellness influencer Stacey Hatfield, known for her platform Natural Spoonfuls where she promoted toxin-free living and natural foods, has died shortly after giving birth to her baby boy.

Her husband, Nathan Warnecke, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Sunday, October 19, revealing that Stacey passed away on September 29, 2025, following the home birth of their first child, Axel.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I share the unexpected passing of my beautiful wife, soulmate, and best friend, Stacey Warnecke (Hatfield),” Nathan wrote.

According to him, Stacey successfully gave birth at home but developed a sudden and rare complication shortly after. She was transferred to the hospital but, despite doctors’ best efforts, did not survive.

Nathan described his late wife as “the light of my life and the reason I got up in the morning,” adding that words couldn’t capture the depth of his pain.

“She was my lighthouse in the storm and the world is less bright without her in it,” he wrote.
“She was the most beautiful, loving, caring, hardworking, disciplined, intelligent, and trustworthy human being I’ve ever known.”

The grieving husband also shared that Stacey founded Natural Spoonfuls in 2019 and later launched her social media content company Waffl.

“It was her life’s biggest dream to be a mum. She did it — on her terms, exactly the way she always dreamed,” Nathan added.
“She held Axel when he was born, nursed him, saw that he was a boy, and loved him. She loved him so much and still continues to love him.”
