NSCDC arrests 2 suspected cable vandals in Bauchi




Wednesday, October 15, 2025 The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Bauchi State Command has arrested two suspected commutation cable vandals in Toro Local Government Area of the State. 

The spokesperson of the corps, who disclosed this at the weekend said the duo were arrested along the Fonde, Haire community axis of Toro LGA on 29th September 2025, following an intelligence report. 

"The two suspects namely Muhammadu Sani "M" 38 years and Muhammed Auwal "M" 34 years, were caught in the act," he stated. 

"The following items recovered at the scene include; digger, shovel and saw.

"The suspects confessed to having committed the alleged crime and have been charged to court.

Commandant Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde while addressing newsmen commended his personnel for their commitment to safeguarding public infrastructures.

He added that the damage caused by cable vandals can lead to the disruption in communication and power supply which can hamper the economy. 

Oyerinde reiterated that the corps has resolved to get rid of vandalism and warned perpetrators to desist from such acts or face legal consequences.
