Nigerian man attacks Police officers in India injuring 4




Tuesday, October 14, 2025 - Chaos erupted in Nalasopara, Mumbai after a raid on a Nigerian man's apartment took a violent turn, leaving four policemen and a civilian witness injured. 

The Times of India reported on Tuesday, October 14 that the incident occurred on Saturday when a team from the Tulinj police station, acting on a tip-off, raided the residence of the Nigerian national identified as Onyejesi Obum Kinsgley at Tara Basera Apartments, Pragati Nagar, Nalasopara east. 

As the team entered his fourth-floor flat, the accused allegedly resisted and turned violent, attacking the raiding party.

The civilian witness, who accompanied the team, bore the brunt of the assault as Kingsley reportedly pinned him down, stood on his hand, and continued to thrash him.

The four police personnel sustained minor injuries and were administered first aid. 

Despite the search, no drugs were recovered from the premises. 

However, the accused was arrested for assaulting public servants and produced before the court on Sunday, which remanded him to police custody.

Kingsley has been charged under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including 132 (assault on a public servant), 117(2) (causing grievous hurt), 121(1) (voluntarily causing hurt to deter duty), 115(2) (causing hurt), 352 (provoking breach of peace), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 131 (assault or criminal force).

A senior officer from Tulinj police confirmed the incident, stating, “No drugs were recovered, but our panch witness and four police staff were assaulted during the operation.”
