Friday, October 10, 2025 - Bayern Munich
striker, Harry Kane has openly stated his desire to win the prestigious Ballon
d’Or award, emphasizing that individual recognition is deeply intertwined with
collective team success.
The England captain, who has been in sensational form, recently became the
first Bundesliga player ever to score 11 goals in his first six league matches,
a performance that contributes to an extraordinary overall goal record in all
competitions.
In a candid discussion with The Guardian, Kane addressed his personal
ambition:
“Obviously, I would love to win the Ballon d’Or. But essentially it is a
team trophy that the best individual from that team wins,” Kane said. “So
unless you win the biggest competitions, it is going to be a Champions League
winner or a World Cup winner this time around.”
He views the award as a culmination of excellence on both fronts: “I would
love to win it for sure, it would be an accumulation of doing something great
individually and as a team. It would be almost the perfect season.”
Kane believes the move to Bayern Munich, a club consistently competing at
the highest level, presents the necessary platform: “The opportunity is there
when you are playing at a club like Bayern and competing at the highest level –
always one of the favourites to win the Champions League and with England we
are going to be one of the favourites to win the World Cup.”
He concluded with optimism about his chances: “There is a long way from
now until then. But if I keep doing what I am doing and we have a successful
season with club and country, then there is a chance to do that.”
