Monday, October 27, 2025 - The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused Governor Charles Soludo of losing public trust and resorting to vote buying as the November 8 governorship election in Anambra draws near.
The party’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the
allegation in a statement on X on Sunday.
He described the governor’s actions as a new evel of
desperation wrapped in impunity.
Abdullahi said Governor Soludo has obviously lost the trust
of Anambra residents, noting that only a leader who no longer enjoys public
support would openly engage in vote buying.
He said such conduct is a direct violation of Sections 121
and 127 of the Electoral Act, which criminalise voter inducement in any form.
Abdullahi urged the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) to take immediate action and not turn a blind eye to what he
described as a blatant abuse of power and disregard for the law.
“I hope INEC is not pretending not to see it,” he added.
