Wednesday, October 15, 2025 - Five people were injured when armed bandits attacked a private vehicle along the New-Bussa–Babanna Road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The incident, which happened on Sunday around 4:00 p.m., was
contained in a post shared on X on Wednesday by security analyst Zagazola
Makama.
According to the post, the victims identified as Alhaji
Fatayi Raheemi, his wife, and family members were travelling in a Mercedes
Compressor car from New-Bussa to Babanna when the attackers opened fire near
Ehka Kuka/Audu Fari village.
“All occupants of the vehicle sustained gunshot wounds and
were rescued by a police patrol team from Babanna Division.
“They were taken to the Primary Health Centre in Babanna,
where they are currently receiving treatment,” Makama wrote.
Those injured were named as Fatayi Raheemi, 38; Fatima
Nurudeen, 27; Munirat Isyaka, 25; Aishat Ismail, 25; and Rashidat Fatayi, 30.
Police have recovered the vehicle to the Babanna Police
Station, while efforts are ongoing to track down the bandits responsible for
the attack
