Tuesday, October 14, 2025 - At least two people have tragically lost their lives after an aircraft erupted into a fireball and crashed into several lorries beside a motorway in Texas.
The aircraft crashed near Hicks Airfield in Fort Worth,
hitting some nearby cars and tractor-trailers and setting them on fire.
Horrifying footage circulated on social media shows a
massive cloud of smoke rising from the crash site as emergency services raced
to the scene on Sunday, October 12, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Online reports are already circulating identifying the
victims as Mobile EHR owner Michael Daly and his father John Daly.
Michael Daly, who owned a health records software company,
leaves behind a wife and four children.
Personnel from the Federal Aviation Administration and the
National Transportation Safety Board are still investigating the potential
cause of this devastating incident, which occurred around 1:30pm local
time near Hicks Airfield at a commercial estate surrounded by small businesses
and residential areas.
However, Lois Kinman, a spokesperson for the airfield, confirmed that the aircraft was not based there, according to Mirror US.
Emergency teams from various agencies responded to the
crash.
Robbie Hoy, a public information officer for the Tarrant
County Sheriff's Office, stated that the Federal Aviation Administration would
be taking over the investigation.
Photos from the scene show emergency vehicles blocking off
the main road.
The plane has been identified as a Beechcraft King Air C90,
but it remains unclear how many passengers were on board when it crashed.
Lauren Anderson, a cashier at an animal feed shop and an
eyewitness to the incident, described to The New York Times seeing a
"giant black cloud of smoke" that seemed to span at least 100 feet.
She recalled a period of around 20 to 30 minutes when emergency vehicles were
continuously rushing past.
